As a small community in the heart of midtown Toronto, we find ourselves surrounded with a great number of needs. Pastor and theologian, Tim Keller, said, "Not everyone is your brother or sister in faith, but everyone is your neighbor and you must love your neighbor.” At Midtown Alliance Church, we have been humbled by God with the question, “Who are our neighbours?" God has been opening our eyes, ears, and hearts to those who live, work, or visit in the Yonge/Eglinton corridor. Some neighbours are friends from the Toronto Community Housing units, the police department, various schools, international students learning English, and local businesses. It has been an amazing journey to see God open doors into peoples' lives and also into sectors where the church was not present.
