We hosted two very successful community events this summer. We hosted and directed running4home.ca, a run/walk that benefits Habitat Durham and other charities that work hard for people struggling in their homes. May 31 marks our fifth anniversary, and over 230 runners/walkers raised over $8000 (post expenses).
We also hosted an outdoor movie on the property of our rental school (Robert Muncsh PS). Over 200 people came out. Thirty of those may have been from The Village, the rest were neighbours and community people. We showed Despicable Me 2. Starbucks, Cineplex Ajax, and Open Air Productions all partnered with us to make this event a success.
