This April, we headed into our second Easter season. We were planning and praying to take advantage of the most highly attended Sunday of the calendar year. We had already been seeing some growth in our numbers (for a church plant in its second year of gathering, it's a big deal). An average of 50+ people had been gathering with us in recent months. Our theme for Easter morning was, “Happy...and then some.” We wanted to communicate that if there was any reason to be happy, the resurrection of Jesus would be at the top of that list.
Easter Sunday came and we had ninety-three people gather with us at our rental space. We were over the moon with excitement! Many of these visitors were either first-time guests or neighbours who had been tracking us from a distance. A follow-up to this is that there are 7 people, mostly early in their faith journey, who are participating in our Alpha small group.
