The Carriage House Ministry was inspired by Isaiah 9 and a bang when I delivered close to 60 cases of water and food on a hot summer day. People at the motel had no idea that I was going to give it all away.
There were groups of people hanging out as I approached them. Clayton and I opened the door to the room and started to stock it. As we unloaded, I went up to a group and asked if they wanted a case of water. They were astonished that we were giving it away for free. That began a waterfall of free food and cases of gum. One person even asked if we robbed a store!
People began flooding into room 21 (our worship room), and I read Isaiah 9 to a few of them:
You have enlarged the nation
and increased their joy;
they rejoice before you
as people rejoice at the harvest,
as warriors rejoice
when dividing the plunder (Isaiah 9:3).
God chose this chapter for us, and now we are seeing it happen.
