Folks from all over the place are going to be gathering to talk, to laugh, to eat, and to connect. Don’t miss out!
What is a Learning Party?
Well, basically it’s designed to be everything good about a conference without the usual rigamarole… and much more fun and interactive:
Instead of charging in the hundreds of dollars for one ticket, it’s just $25 for registration… and that includes a delicious lunch.
Instead of maxing out our capacity, we have limited our numbers to give everyone there the best possible environment for conversations and networking (we limit registration to 75 people or less).
Instead of having people listening to message after message by “gurus” and being filled with information, we want people to be part of conversations with others in similar shoes and learn and grow within that relationship. We simply ask people who have already registered for the gathering to share their stories to spark conversation. These stories are 10 minutes long… or shorter.
Instead of some fancy shmancy hotel or convention centre as a venue, the learning party is taking place at a local community centre in the north end of Hamilton.
What’s the Plan?
The learning party includes three main sessions: listening, forming, and innovating. In each one we all listen to two or three people share (for 10 minutes or less) their story on a particular theme and then there is opportunity for everyone to share their own related stories in what we call “party pods.” These are free-flowing discussion groups that people can enter and exit whenever they choose.
