The vision of Highway 400 is to build a foundation for new churches and identify new leaders in the York Region of Ontario. Through the support of Upper Room Community Church and the leadership of Malcolm Billing, we anticipate that a New Venture will start in the York Region in two years and in that time, to identify other New Ventures and new leaders.
Says Malcolm,
I am excited about the opportunity to reach more people along the Highway 400 corridor, as this is one of the fastest-growing areas of the GTA and crucial link to the communities it connects. It is an area that desperately needs a greater presence of Jesus and his peace for the busy lives of those who live there. The history of the Alliance is of people taking leaps of faith based on their relationships with Christ and it is exciting to experience the same blessings alongside other leaders as we step out in sharing the message of Jesus in our communities.

Malcolm Billing grew up in Toronto and after spending time living in Germany, Switzerland, Ghana and India after university, returned home. There, he spent over a decade coaching University of Toronto business students on their careers and managing the operational side of an 800-student program. Having come to faith in 2010 at Upper Room Community Church, he completed an M.Div. at Tyndale Seminary that grew his passion for the local church. Malcolm is a self-proclaimed nerd and a devourer of information (useful and otherwise!). Outside of church life, Malcolm enjoys camping, canoeing, hiking and travelling with his wife Lori.
